Coordinator Information
All staff, interns, and crew are assigned a job at Mud Challenger. View your job description below and learn more about how to successfully perform your job by viewing your Job Detail Sheet.

View Job Details:
Obstacles & Course Safety Coordinator
The Lead Obstacle & Safety Coordinator is the primary safety staff member at the Mud Challenger Course. This duty is probably the most important at the entire event. Safety and well being of our guests is our #1 concern.
As the Lead Obstacle & Safety Coordinator, you will circulate the course and frequently inspect obstacles for stability and safety. Any obstacle that appears damaged or dangerous should be shut down immediately, and repaired (if possible) before reopening.
This coordinator will maintain constant communication with the Race Director via radio, and will also have a dedicated ATV.
Check-in Coordinator
Registration & Check-in Coordinators are the friendly first impression at Mud Challenger. You’ll be based at our Registration and Check-in tent and greet Participants and Spectators as they arrive. This is a very important job at Mud Challenger, but also an easy and fun one!
At most events there are 12 lanes for entry, 10 of these are under your supervision. Most of the 10 lanes will be run by volunteer workers. You will make sure that all volunteers are properly trained and following the check-in protocol at each check-in gate.
Check-In Solutions Coordinator
Solutions Check-In Coordinators have a critical role in our Registration & Check-in Process. The Solutions Desk is where participants go when they have a problem and need a solution.
When do people visit Solutions?
1. They want to register on event day.
2. They want to make a transfer.
3. They are not listed on a roster.
Registration & Check-in Coordinators are the friendly first impression at Mud Challenger. You’ll be based at our Registration and Check-in tent and greet Participants and Spectators as they arrive.
Parking & Shuttle Coordinators
**CRITICAL** Parking and Shuttle Coordinators MUST be on time, as they are the first staff to begin their tasks in preparation for volunteers to arrive. Parking Staff should be present and ready at 6AM. Volunteers will begin arriving at 7AM, leaving a very short window to get everything in place and ready!!
As the Parking and Shuttle Coordinator, you will lead one of the most important logistical challenges at this event- Parking and Transportation. Staff and Event Directors will park on-site (as you will), but all Volunteers and Participants will park at the off-site shuttle lot.
Your duty may include managing the shuttles, managing parking lot access, or directing traffic within our parking lots.
Volunteer Coordinator
As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will oversee all volunteers at this event. You will assist them with check-in first thing in the morning, and then help place them around the course by priority.
Bag Drop Coordinator
As the Bag Drop Coordinator, you will oversee the process and area where participants are allowed to leave their personal belongings while they run the course. Participants are allowed to bring one small bag and leave it at the Bag Drop tent.
We have simplified this process to make it easier on you. Participant Instruction Signs are clearly posted in the front of the tent to assist with this process.
Concessions Food & Beverages Coordinator
Concession Stand Coordinators manage food and beverages that are sold at Mud Challenger. You might be helping with food prep or at the concession window handling money.
Here’s the Menu for this event:
Concessions TABC Coordinator
As the Concessions TABC Coordinator, you are responsible for the efficiency of beer sales and distribution at Mud Challenger. You will work in conjunction with the MillerLite Beer Staff who will help with equipment set-up and get everything ready for serving.
Merch Tent Coordinator
As the Merch Tent Coordinator, you will oversee the sales of Merchandise and Apparel at Mud Challenger. At each event, we have one 10×10 tent that we call the “Shirt Shack”. Here, participants can buy any shirt for $20.
VIP Tent Coordinator
As the Fathom VIP Private Tent Coordinator, you will oversee the hospitality tent and greet guests of the event.
At most events produced by Fathom, we invite special guests to come and enjoy the festivities. At Mud Challenger, our VIP tent offers a place for our guests to congregate, enjoy food, beverages, and interesting sights.
Course Hydration Coordinator
As the Course Hydration Coordinator, you will oversee the hydration and drinking water systems for participants on the course.
We usually use the WaterMonster system at our events allowing us to hydrate several people at a time. It is imperative that cups are thrown away properly.
SEE JOB DETAIL SHEET
Starting Line Emcee
As the Starting Line Emcee, you will encourage and motivate participants near the Starting Line. You will be provided with a script, a microphone, and sound system. If you want, you can pre-prepare a playlist on your phone, or use our Mud Challenger playlist on Spotify.
You will work directly with Photographers and the Starting Line Effects Coordinator in an effort to produce a great experience for the guests, and one that also yields great photography and video.
Starting Line Effects
